Be camera happy

One of my favorite things to do while traveling is to take pictures of literally anything and everything; whether it be a flower, my lunch, a building, or a crowd of people.

I believe everyone should get into photography and here are a few reasons why…

1. To preserve important moments in your life.

Each picture says a thousand words and it isn’t likely our minds can recall all the experiences and sights we encounter while away from home. Taking a picture is like putting a piece of your adventure into a time capsule to be remembered for years to come.

2. To communicate with anyone.

There are so many different languages out there which makes it difficult to communicate with those from other places in the world. One image can tell someone more than anything we can express verbally.

3. To remember the little things.

So many details. Like lighting. Colors. The emotion in someone’s face. How delicious that cup of coffee was. Or that breathtaking view from the top of the London Eye. These are all things our mind may let go over time. Pictures help to embrace these moments forever, and perhaps inspire us to continue to explore.

4. To share with others.

Going on that next trip alone? The more pictures you take, the more you’ll have to share with your loved ones when you get back home.

5. To see the beauty in the world.

Because the world really IS beautiful beyond words. Even the most disgusting of things can be beautiful in the right light!

6. To express yourself.

Photography is a great outlet to express yourself, just like the clothes you wear (and this guy!). I take a lot of pictures of food. Some enjoy capturing nature, abstract things or emotion. No matter what your favorite thing is to snap, it is what YOU like. And no one can ever take that away from you.

Remember, there’s no such thing as taking TOO MANY pictures. 🙂
